Guitar Hero is the Bombdigity

Jenny and Dustin invited us over for dinner a couple of weeks ago so our little ones could play. Then they brought out the video game Guitar Hero.

So, its been at least 3 or 4 years since we've really played a video game. They have definitely made some improvements over the past few years. It's a good thing they don't make Guitar Hero for PlayStation 1; I don't know who would take care of Ella. I hear Rock Band is even more fun. Impossible.

Oh yea, and also, our kiddos got to play....

Law Prom

A few weeks ago (yes, I am quite behind on the blogs....I am finally allowed to blog again now that our tax returns are in the mail) we went to Cumberland's Barrister's Ball (aka Law Prom). We got all dressed up for a hot night on the town.

It was supposed to be a masquerade ball, and John and I had the best masks.

So what if no one else was wearing theirs.

Ella's first Horse Riding Adventure!

Just kidding. I got my first horse riding lesson a couple of weeks ago, and we decided to stick Ella up on Black Jack for a little photo shoot!

I have never been so sore in my entire life. I was basically trying to just get my balance on the horse, and so I "just" trotted around for an hour on Black Jack. I had no idea I would have bruises and not be able to walk for 2 days. We had the opportunity to go back the next day for a beautiful afternoon of trail riding up in the mountains, but I was too sore to even sit down on our couch, so we couldn't go! :(

11 Months Old!

It's hard to believe that Ella will be 11 months old this week. Yikes, I guess that means I need to start planning a birthday party. Oops!

Ella started saying 2 new words this weekend, and here's a couple of short video's we took....

Oh yea, everyone keeps asking me how Ella has been doing, and really she is doing just great! Gaining more and more weight, and is just a happy little Ella again. She had one little tummy episode about 2 weeks ago, and she was very uncomfortable all night. We didn't end up in the ER this time thank goodness (but I thought we were going to for a little while), and this time we think it was something she ate. We went to visit her GI specialist last week and tomorrow we see her surgeon for a follow up and one more blood test, so I'll write more on those appointments later.

Oh yes, I am so proud!! Someone recommended that he give up the law thing and become a full time performer. Nope. Especially not since he just accepted a job this week working for some really great people at a firm here in Birmingham!!

John is going to be a real grown up lawyer soon!!!! Can you believe it?

Why we pay them the Big Bucks

While Ella was in the hospital this last time, Ella's class made her a huge card, and Mrs. LauraLee tried to find our house to bring it to us the day Ella got out of the hospital. It's in the shape of a big heart and each of the kids in her class put their hand prints on it and all of her teachers wrote sweet little Get Well Soon notes on it. We just love Ella's daycare and are so lucky to feel so comfortable leaving her there every day. But, that's why we pay them the big bucks, I suppose.

Here's a sweet, romantic buggy ride at daycare....please take note that Ella and Patrick are holding hands???!!!!! Apparently they held hands for the whole buggy ride. Do they know how to hold hands at 10 months old? We are starting to get a little afraid....
